Mirror, mirror on the wall
Brushing teeth, applying makeup, or shaving:
The bathroom mirror primarily serves the user to take a close look at themselves. Who doesn’t know it: Still sleepy, you enter the bathroom in the morning, turn on the light – bright as it is, it makes you wince. At least you’re awake after that. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Because digitalization is also making its way into modern bathrooms. Today, the light can be adjusted to the mood or the biorhythm of the bathroom users, illuminating the room in various color nuances.
“The biorhythm, a kind of internal timetable, influences the well-being and performance phases of people,” says the website of Keller Spiegelschränke AG, for example. “An important factor in this is light, which significantly contributes to becoming alert or calming down.” That’s why the light in the new Keller products is programmable and adjustable via an app.
Light for More Well-Being
At Talsee, light also plays a central role. “The new light technology ‘tunable white’ gives customers the right light at the right time,” the company shares. “It thus ensures more quality of life and individual feel-good moments in the bathroom.” Other providers like Laufen or Fraefel are increasingly focusing on light quality and colors, as the following overview shows.
Mues-Tec takes a step further in the digitalization of the bathroom. With Smart Mirrors, the entire range of entertainment apps is available. An Android system brings all the apps the user wants to the mirror, which also serves as a screen. IOS by Apple is not available for licensing reasons. And if it takes a bit longer: The high-tech mirror should also not fog up.
The Office in the Mirror
A smart mirror brings multimedia applications like TV, music, and apps into the bathroom. The German Mues-Tec GmbH and Co., with a branch in Thun BE, works with the bathroom furniture manufacturer Lanzet. The furniture thus offers not only the necessary storage space.
The user always has their emails, appointments, or the weather forecast in view. The operation is done via a touch panel or by voice function. Steam and general humidity do not cause any damage to the devices, and they should not fog up. Additional safety is provided by the 12-volt operation.
