What does the term “IP” stand for, and how does it relate to Mues-Tec products?
Definition of the Term: IP
The internationally recognized term “IP,” which stands for “Ingress Protection“, is used to indicate the level of protection against the intrusion of foreign objects or liquids. It is classified into protection classes ranging from 0 to 9 according to VDE 0710 DIN 40050.
Mues-Tec uses the general protection class of IP65 to signify the standard protection against dust and moisture for wet and damp areas.
The first number denotes the degree of protection against solid objects such as dust and dirt, while the second number indicates the protection against water.
In the case of IP65, this means dust-tightness and protection against water jets.
